A class assignment to illustrate an angel turned into my opportunity to pay tribute to the artwork that graced the covers of Amazing Stories and other golden-age pulp science fiction magazines.
The best compliment I ever got on this one was from my former roommate's kid sister, who remarked that "she looks brave."
